Phoenix, Arizona-based logistics technology specialist GlobalTranz is moving from the Riverplace across the river to Capella Tower in downtown Minneapolis.
The company has recently leased about 24,000 square feet of space on the 17th and 18th floors of Capella Tower, upgrading from roughly 9,000 square feet previously, says a paywalled report in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.
GlobalTranz originally expanded to Minnesota via May 2017 acquisition of Minneapolis-based Logistics Planning Services Inc. – a trend that we’re seeing repeatedly and already has about 130 employees in the Twin Cities.
Owned by New York-based private equity firm The Jordan Co.,they have acquired a handful of companies over the past two years, while CEO Kirsten Castillo expects the business will generate about $1.2 billion in revenue this year.
GlobalTraz wants to hire up locally, according to the article, which notes Minnesota customers include Land O’ Lakes and Faribault Foods; Kevin Foster is leading the Twin Cities tech team “that could include adding 20 more positions to the Minneapolis office.” According to Linkedin, the 15 year old firm counts just over 1,000 employees overall.
There exists an active group group related companies of various sizes across Minnesota merging tech with logistics, shipping, and transportation.
