“WillowWorks, an early stage investor that provides startup capital, strategic advice, and commercialization support, today announced its partnership with Civic Eagle, a tech startup focused on making legislative information accessible, clear and actionable. Based in St. Paul, Minneapolis, Civic Eagle’s SaaS platform uses artificial intelligence to offer enterprise and nonprofit organizations with federal and state level legislative workflow tools.”
By removing the complexities of legislative research, Civic Eagle aims to increase civic engagement and political empowerment. Co-founder and CEO, Damola Ogundipe states, “We want to make all the world’s political and legislative information accessible and understandable to anybody.”
John Choi, WillowWork’s General Manager says, “This is a big idea that serves a $2.5B market. The business model is clearly focused on expanding both the product and customer base. We also appreciate the practical use of machine learning technologies that organize and structure broadly inconsistent legislative sources to best serve their users. We are enthusiastic to be part of the Civic Eagle journey.”
The investment will support Civic Eagle’s growth plan for adding necessary talent and resources to the team currently comprised of; brilliant technologists, data scientists, and an award-winning designer. The team’s rich experience in governmental affairs, lobbying, and policy analysis will be well complimented by these new additions.
Melinda Gloriosa, Program Manager of WillowWorks states, “It was very apparent after meeting with Damola that he has the type of grit we look for in a founder. Even before he was able to personally vote in this country, he was working toward increasing awareness and participation in the political process. That type of passion really resonated with us, and we look forward to seeing those characteristics propel Civic Eagle to the next level.”
