Educational content startup The Big Know has relocated headquaters within Minneapolis in a move that nearly triples their office footprint.
Previously located at 110 N 5th St. on the same floor as sister company GoKart Labs, The Big Know moved yesterday into a new 6,500 square foot home inside the Colwell Building at 123 3rd St. #605.
“We’re growing our team, and therefore simply outgrew our space,” company President Allison Gage says. “We’ve doubled our full time headcount to about ~33 year over year, not counting our offshore software development team in Minsk, Belarus, through WareCorp.”
The Big Know is an online learning company that was formed in 2015 as a spin-out from Go Kart Labs. Their platform focus is on holistic video courses in wellness areas such as financial, physical, mental, etc. The model is a blend of software and creative services that serve clients with co-created and co-branded educational content they use for engagement purposes.
A longstanding example is UnitedHealthcare’s ‘Learning Academy’ that’s focused on medicare and retirement populations.
Gage notes that the venture has “more than a dozen” enterprise customers including UHG, AARP, US Bank, and Optum.
The Big Know previously closed on a $3m dollar funding round in January 2016, including investments from LFE Capital and Steve Shank — founder of online educator Capella Education Company (1991). Gage declined to disclose revenues or comment on profitability – but did hint at a series B funding round.
“We expect to keep growing with the goal of doubling our revenues annually,” she says, attributing success thus far to culture, saying: “We live by a set of core values that have very specific definitions. We take these very seriously and use them when vetting new people and keeping them.”
The Big Know is currently hiring for a developer position.
