Minnesota has embraced startup culture, and BETA is doing their share to encourage this trend to continue. After introducing 138 startups over the last five years, BETA is now in position to help take some of their successes to a whole new level. This week marks the launch of the BETA Tournament of Champions. Eight startups will compete for over $50,000 in funding and services to help solidify their place in the market.

Reed Robinson, Executive Director of BETA, explains that the companies included in this campaign are largely diverse and in all different stages of development. “Don’t be surprised when these companies are one day selling to even larger companies, or hiring 100 new people,” he added. The common thread among the companies selected is the demonstration of progress and BETA intends to highlight and celebrate this positive movement. The purpose of this competition is to get these success stories back in front of people and remind them of the innovative work these companies are doing every day.

Through this initiative, and in partnership with a growing number of service agencies in the region, BETA is looking for your input. By voting with your donations for the startup you’d most like to see gain this support, you are the key to helping one of these startups take home the grand prize.

The Tournament of Champions consists of 2 rounds of eliminations, and then a live Grand Finale event, at which the winning team will be announced.
