BETA Startup: Joshin logoThe TECHdotMN team would like to introduce you to each of the startups featured in the upcoming BETA showcase. Over the next couple of weeks, we will highlight each company, so you can get a better idea of the talent, hardwork, and dedication held within each of these startups.

The next company in our BETA Startup Showcase series is: Joshin

“First-of-its-kind disability care, in an easy app. Download Joshin & get connected with a network of vetted and experienced caregivers.”

Tell us the story of how and why you started your company.
The founders of Joshin, Melissa and Melanie grew up with a big brother, Josh who had special needs. Growing up like the 1-in-5 families with special needs taught them to be fierce advocates and the importance of finding unmet needs and solving them. Ten years ago, Josh suddenly passed away, leaving his sisters contemplating doing more on their career path. They started, Josh’s Place a company that provided 24/7 care to adults with disabilities. Two years ago, while raising small children of their own they were brought back to the time their family struggled to find quality care. After doing research they saw no care platform was designed to focus on the 61 Million people in the US with disabilities. They couldn’t believe there was not a solution, so they built Joshin – a platform that connections families with special needs to pre-vetted, screened specialized caregivers (We call them “Joymakers”). Joshin launch in early 2019 and is now available in the Twin Cities, Chicago and the Bay Area.

What’s your most recent success or milestone hit?
