Tell us the story of how and why you started your company.
Our founders bring a rich heritage in music production and development, having worked for leading music industry companies. We’ve worked together successfully in the past and banded together to form Musical Medication, with the intent of making people healthier and happier.
For centuries, music’s therapeutic powers for healing have been documented anecdotally. In recent years music therapy has been adoption to treat illnesses ranging from chronic conditions, to acute interventions, to mitigating the effects from chemotherapy, to mental health concerns.
America is at a crossroads to supply accessible care to all, at an efficient price. Sustainability of this requires new ways to deliver better patient outcomes without the destructive effects of opiods and prescription medication. There are key segments of populations that can benefit from more holistic options for treatment ranging from adolescents to the elderly. Musical medication is seeking to deliver alternatives to costly and addictive medications and serve the body as a nurturing solution.
What’s your most recent success or milestone hit?
We’ve created about 25% of our proprietary library of disease and symptom-specific therapeutic sound and music. Our website is nearly complete, hosted on Azure, and is in Beta with select users and businesses.
Where do you see your startup in 1 year?
We intend to be “the name” in digital therapeutic music and motivational spoken word streaming. We’re targeting 1 million Musical Medication users and mobile app downloads. We’ll have at least one celebrity spokesperson who also lends their voice to our spoken word content. Our music and spoken word library will contain 200+ pieces. We will have initiated our first clinical studies of the effectiveness of our music.
