ImpactSKU Goes Virtual for Preview Program

Another day, another event goes virtual. Such is the world. But if your startup is developing something big in the world of consumer packaged goods (CPG), this opportunity might be the right fit.

FINNOVATION Lab and Austin-based SKU have teamed up to form ImpactSKU, an accelerator program aimed at CPG-focused startups with positive core values including environmental sustainability, fair labor practices, ethical supply chains, and healthy communities. The accelerator is also supported by Minnesota CPG companies The Stable and 301 Inc. (the venture-capital unit of General Mills).

Originally envisioned as a 12-week program, the COVID-19 pandemic forced a delay to 2021. But thanks to the magic of the internet, ImpactSKU has developed a 6-week virtual program — dubbed ImpactSKU Preview — set to launch on August 4, 2020.

ImpactSKU Preview will be accepting 10 CPG companies and will cover a wide range of important topics from how to nail a product’s vision and purpose to navigating the financial and legal waters of getting a product off of the whiteboard and onto store shelves. Companies will also have access to CPG experts (more on that below) and develop pitches for the 2020 Showcase during Twin Cities Startup Week.

Here’s where it gets a little tense — applications are closed after May 15. So, if you want to get in on the action as a participant, the clock is ticking!

ImpactSKU is also looking for mentors with CPG experience to share their experience throughout the program. If that’s you, you can contact Connie Rutledge (CEO of FINNOVATION Lab and Executive Director of ImpactSKU) at connie@finn-lab.com or hello@sku.is.
