Minneapolis, Minn. – Jan. 14, 2021 – When I Work, a market leader in hourly workforce management software with more than 150,000 workplace partners worldwide, is excited to announce the hiring of its first-ever chief financial officer. Greg Wallace, When I Work’s vice president of finance, will take on the role of leading the company’s finances through the next phase of growth.

“As I’ve gotten to know the many talented people within When I Work, it became clear that Greg is the natural person for the CFO role,” said Martin Hartshorne, who took over as When I Work’s CEO in July 2020. “As we set out on a path to triple the value of the company over the next several years, I knew I needed a key financial partner in the C-suite at my side. Wallace joined When I Work as the vice president of finance in January 2015 and has helped the company grow tenfold since. He has guided the company through successful Series A and Series B financing rounds as well as to profitability with When I Work now serving over 150,000 workplaces worldwide. As CFO, Greg will oversee not only the finance team, but also the company’s legal, IT, and data teams.

“I’m honored to step into the role of CFO,” said Wallace. “Over the past five years, I’ve been able to build up When I Work’s financial, legal, data science, and IT areas. Prior to When I Work, Wallace worked as the senior finance manager at Code42 and in several financial roles at HighJump Software. During his nearly nine years at HighJump, he oversaw six acquisitions—including Global Beverage Group and Evenex ApS—and the company’s growth from $40 million in revenue to $160 million. Wallace also led two sales of HighJump, from 3M to Battery Ventures and from Battery Ventures to Accel-KKR, a combined value of nearly $330 million.
