What to know about the new Ecolab design center:
- Ecolab, the St. Paul-based company specializing in water treatment, opened a new 22,000-square-foot Advanced Design Center in Eagan this week
- The company says the new facility will deliver prototypes and continue to modify those products to reach market quickly
- Some features of the space include a maker space, an advanced machine shop, a metrology and testing space, and a 9,600-square-foot ISO-8 clean room for assembly and packaging
- An issue of particular focus for the facility is developing new sterilization solutions for medical equipment
