AirSelfie Recognized as CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honoree

When I first wrote about AirSelfie, Inc., the Minneapolis-based tech company pioneering a fleet of camera-enabled mini-drones, I kicked off the post like this:

“It’s 2020, folks. We’re officially in “years that sound like sci-fi dates” territory, and there’s no better way to kick off the arrival of the future than by looking ahead to the… future of the future?”

Oof. What a sweet summer child you were, early-2020 Alex. Today, I — an almost-2022 version of myself, older and much, much world wearier — look back at that and think, “If 2020 was the future, we need to rewrite the timeline FAST.”

But I digress.

AirSelfie is once again hitting CES®, and the company has been recognized for its 4th Generation product — “AIR NEO” — with a CES® 2022 Innovation Awards Honoree. A panel of tech industry judges select the award recipients each year, with the top products in tech receiving the “Best of Innovation” designation. There were more than 1,800 submissions for the 2022 awards.

In a release, AirSelfie touts AIR NEO’s abilities to capture high-quality images without any flight experience thanks to the device’s AI body tracking and facial detection technology.

“AirSelfie continues to innovate and develop products for social media influencers, photo enthusiasts, and with the introduction of AutoFly™ Video – videographers. AIR NEO is perfect for capturing yourself at the center of a TikTok or YouTube video,” Greg Appelhof, AirSelfie CEO, said. “AirSelfie focuses on autonomous flight as a core platform, drastically improving the user experience for capturing images and video, controller-free. AIR NEO is the easiest and quickest platform to capture and share moments and stories as they happen.”
