Minneapolis, MN — The BETA Group (BETA) today announced the twenty companies selected to participate in its Spring 2023 accelerator program, the BETA Cohort. The accelerator, now in its 10th year, is the largest of its kind in Minnesota serving the state’s early stage technology startups.
With the addition of two distinguished Strategic Partners—the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) and Optum—BETA is proud to bring a new and exciting focus of healthcare technology to its 2023 Spring Cohort program. Eight of the twenty companies selected are building healthcare SaaS or medical device solutions.
“Optum is excited to partner with BETA to promote technology innovation in healthcare startup companies,” Optum Enterprise Architect Michael Arulfo said. “BETA’s mission to support diverse founders enables the most creative and innovative solutions to emerge that solve some of the biggest problems in healthcare today.”
Founders who participate in the program tap into invaluable expertise, opening the doors to a rich mentor network from the healthcare technology giant and the state’s driving force behind economic and employment growth. The four-month accelerator leads to participation in a BETA Showcase and a demo day during which Cohort companies can put all they’ve learned on display for the community.
“Founders First is our purpose,” BETA Entrepreneur In Residence Cihan Behlivan said. “We love to engage and elevate all of our Beta founders in their exhilarating journeys. I am very excited to work with our incoming Spring 2023 cohort closely.”
As a result of partnerships like these, the BETA Cohort is a free, non-dilutive accelerator program that features valuable programming from experts and mentors such as the Lean Canvas model, creating mission, vision, and values, sales development, and investment readiness.
