MobDemoThe fourth annual MobDemo competition returned last week during the two day MobCon technology conference in downtown Minneapolis.

Five local mobile startups took the stage to give their best product pitch to a live audience, and in the end, myBivy emerged victorious per collective audience judgement.

Macalester senior Tyler Skluzacek won the grand prize of $5,000 along with $20,000 in free mobile development from MentorMate and $3,000 in free legal services from Gray Plant Mooty. Second place went to Aneela Kumar, Kid Around Town. Below are pitches captured from all the contenders:

Five finalists took the stage yesterday to compete in the entrepreneurship competition MobDemo, hosted annually at MobCon, a mobile and digital technology conference based in Minneapolis, Minn.

Each pitch lasted just five minutes. But those five minutes were important. They determined who of the five finalists would leave MobCon having earned the grand prize of $5,000 along with $20,000 in free mobile development from MentorMate and $3,000 in free legal services from Gray Plant Mooty.

And the answer is Tyler Skluzacek, with MyBivy, a wearable and mobile app that use terror-disrupting responses to help PTSD-suffers sleep through the night.

Eight mobile startups pitching at MobDemo next month
