The Coven has announced it will be providing primary healthcare access to its members through Roseville-based Nice Healthcare. Citing inaccessibility issues with the healthcare system, the co-working space focused on women, non-binary, and trans individuals is offering Nice’s services for $30 a month.
“We know how inaccessible our healthcare system is, and for many of our members primary care is inconvenient, expensive, and inequitable,” The Coven wrote in a LinkedIn post announcing the news. “The Coven is the first co-working space in the U.S. to offer healthcare for our members!”
Healthcare services including x-rays, labs, prescriptions, virtual physical and mental health consultations, and more. In an interview with Twin Cities Business, Alex West Steinman, Co-founder and partner of The Coven, said that while the offerings aren’t a substitute for a comprehensive health insurance plan (the services don’t cover more complicated medical situations such as surgeries and hospitalizations), they do representative a movement toward, “democratizing healthcare.”
The Coven expanded into St. Paul in January 2020 and moved its Minneapolis location to Eat Street in March 2021 in a partnership with Zeus Jones.
